2. Use Flour Tortillas
Whole-wheat, corn, flour – how do you choose the perfect tortilla for your recipe? Your choice depends on the filling you intend to use. Try and wrap a corn tortilla, and you’re going to end up with a crumbled mess.
We use flour tortillas for all of our recipes. Flour tortillas are easy to fold and don’t crumble or tear when folding. The pliability of flour tortillas means that they hold the cheese and the fillings together, without falling apart like corn tortillas.
The flip is a critical part of cooking tortillas, and using a flour-based product will ensure that your quesadillas don’t fall apart on the flip. We like to buy branded tortillas in the supermarket for our quesadillas. Using Blue Shirt Bakery or Old El Paso flour tortillas are the best options available.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try out a recipe for homemade tortillas and make them yourself.
