2. Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate is one of our favorite foods when it comes to staying younger. Why? Because while it’s supremely healthy, it’s also really tasty. This doesn’t feel like a ‘health food’ unlike everyone’s least favorite green vegetable, kale. Rather it feels like a treat!
But dark chocolate is low in sugar compared with milk chocolate and higher in cacao. Meanwhile, cacao has many very beneficial properties. For one, it is a great source of epicatechin, which is a substance that acts as a ‘vasodilator’. For those that don’t know, this means that it helps to widen the blood vessels, thereby encouraging greater blood flow around the body. That, in turn, means more blood, oxygen, and nutrients get delivered to the brain, as well as all the other tissues in the body. This then means superior healing of wounds, as well as the regeneration of wrinkles and other issues.
Epicatechin also helps to build muscle by increasing satellite cells and generally keeps you looking, feeling, and performing younger!
And because blood flow will improve, you’ll enjoy the rosier and healthier complexion that you did when you were younger!
