3. Apples
Apples contain epicatechin just like dark chocolate, meaning that you get all the benefits from that wonderful food. At the same time, you’ll also benefit from the fiber that comes from the skin, and a good boost of healthy energy.
Moreover, though, apples are very high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to strengthen the immune system and fend off a wide range of unwanted invaders that can cause illness and generally accelerate the signs of aging.
At the same time though, vitamin C is also an antioxidant. This means that it can help to deter and neutralize the effect of ‘free radicals’ in the body. These substances attack cells, breakthrough their walls, and ultimately cause mutations to the DNA once they reach the nucleus in the center. This is largely what is responsible for many of the imperfections, lines, and wrinkles that you see start to emerge as you get older.
Not only that, but mutations in the DNA are what cause cancer.
By consuming lots of apples then, you’ll not only feel full of energy and vigor, but you’ll also find that you look younger and can avoid the most severe illnesses associated with aging.
