2. Pesto Pasta
One of the most popular uses of pesto is to mix it with pasta. Whether you are eating ravioli, fettuccini, spaghetti, penne, spirals or wheels, you can give it some extra kick with a tablespoon or two of pesto added.
Add the pesto when the pasta is hot after the water has been drained and placed in a large bowl. Spoon in the pesto and, if desired, add olive oil, salt, and extra parmesan cheese. Pesto is excellent added to cold pasta salad with black olives, halved cherry tomatoes and chunks of cheese. For added flavor to your tomato sauce, spoon in some pesto when heated up your sauce. You can also cut the heaviness of the cream in alfredo sauce by spooning in pesto to the sauce as it is bubbling on the stove.
The uses of pesto in pasta dishes are almost limitless and you almost can’t go wrong with a bit of this special sauce.
