3. Know your Fish
When it comes to purchasing salmon, or any type of fish, it is a good idea to purchase the best one that you can find and afford. When it comes to buying salmon it is typically best to purchase wild-caught salmon as opposed to a farm-raised cut. The reason for this is that wild-caught salmon are less likely to contain any type of disease as these fish have had more space to roam. Farmed raised salmon are often full of antibiotics and other things that are not that great to put into your body.
Check your label closely when purchasing your fish so that you know exactly where the fish that you will be eating comes from. It is also a good idea to try to purchase the freshest fish possible. Discount fish may seem like a bargain, but it may cause some unpleasant side effects depending on the age of the filet and whether or not it is cooked appropriately.
