3. Cooking the Spices
The next step for cooking a great chicken stir fry is to heat up the spices. You will want to use ginger and garlic to provide your dish with some flavor. Once you have heated up the peanut oil in your wok you will want to add in the ginger and the garlic. You do not need to cook these spices for very long, just about a minute will do.
You just want to pull out the flavors of the spices so that it will be transferred to the chicken and the vegetables when you add them to the wok. You can also use other spices such as Chinese 5 spice, cumin, and others. The great thing about making a stir fry is that you can change just a couple of spices and make it taste completely different. For your first stir fry stick to some garlic and ginger for flavor and then experiment.
