2 Simple Tomato Ketchup
That last ketchup recipe was a little bit surprising, in that it contained a whole lot of ingredients other than tomato and then just a little bit of tomato paste at the end to redden it up.
So if you’re looking for something a lot more authentic to the original that you’re probably used to, then just take half a tin of chopped tomatoes, a whole tube of tomato puree, and a little bit of brown sugar. Mix all that up in a blender, heat it up, and voila you have a tomato ketchup that is going to taste almost like the stuff you buy in the shop, but with none of those unwanted preservatives.
This is a great basis you can use when creating all manner of ketchup by the way – you can then add new elements as you see fit, experiment, and see what works best for you.
