6 Carrot Ketchup
We’ve discussed a little already that you can make ketchup without necessarily needing tomatoes. This is just the type of ketchup that has become most famous – but there are plenty of others if you want to venture out.
Carrot ketchup uses carrots as the main ingredient, but is similarly healthy (carrots contain lutein and plenty other important nutrients) and has the same excellent tangy taste.
For this one, you are going to take your carrots and then you’re going to add carrots, olive oil, some tomato puree, a little swede, some sugar, some cinnamon, and some salt and pepper. Blend that together and you’ll have ketchup that goes much better on foods that you wouldn’t feel happy placing more tomato-based ketchup onto.
