3. Pulled Pork Pie
A crispy, golden-brown pie crust, filled with delicious pulled pork – This recipe is terrific for entertaining guests!
INGREDIENTS
2/3-cup BBQ sauce, plus ¼-cup for serving.
1-tablespoon apple cider vinegar.
1-tablespoon brown sugar – divided.
½-teaspoon garlic powder.
½-teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.
2-cups oven-roasted pulled pork.
2-tubes Crescent rolls
1-½-cup Monterey Jack cheese.
¼-cup red onion – sliced thin.
¼-cup sliced pepperoncini peppers.
2-tablespoons grass-fed butter – melted.
½-teaspoon Kosher salt.
Freshly cracked black pepper.
METHOD
Preheat oven to 375F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the vinegar, 1-tablespoon of sugar, and the barbeque sauce, along with the red pepper flakes and garlic powder. Coat the pork in the sauce and place on a foil-covered baking tray. Roast in the oven for 3-hours until the pork is tender enough to shred with two forks.
Unroll the crescent rolls, arrange on a foil-covered baking sheet. Add an even layer of cheese on the bottom of the rolls and then top with pulled pork and sauce. Fold the crescent rolls and bake in the oven for 12 to 15-minutes until golden brown. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
