There’s a good reason why it appears as the base for many recipes here: It’s easy, it’s cheap, it’s quick and you can do a thousand different ways – and each time you’ll end up with a completely different cookie even though the basic recipe stays the same.
It’s so easy a kid can do it. And that means that you certainly won’t have trouble with it even if you’ve never baked anything before in your life. See? You’re fine.
Some people prefer a bit of crunch to their cookies: For this, add chunky peanut butter or crushed nuts to the batter or over the cookies halfway through baking.
