Shortbread works surprisingly well with maple syrup. To make this one, you are going to take flour, butter, and sugar and mix them in a mixing bowl until you have something that looks like breadcrumbs. Then you’re going to squeeze those breadcrumbs together in order to make a proper dough, and roll it out on a flat floured surface. You can then cut it into the fingers and use a fork to make some imprints.
Chill the dough for about 20 minutes, then bake for a further 20 minutes until golden brown. Now you’re going to get it out and decide what toppings you want to add!
There are countless options, but you can of course already guess what we’re going to recommend: that you add syrup! This will make it rich and delicious and it’s the perfect way to very simply turn your meal into something even more delicious.
