3. Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
This tater tot casserole is great for lunch or dinner. It has a familiar flavor that your entire family will love, especially the kids. You can change it to add other ingredients or take something out if you don’t like it. It’s fast and easy. You can even make it ahead of time and then heat it up when you are ready to eat it. It even freezes well.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Ground beef
- 1/2 Sweet onion
- 1 tbsp Ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- Dill pickle relish
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1/2 glass of Milk
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups Shredded Cheese
- 5 – 8 oz Tater Tots
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. B
- Spray a cooking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet cook beef and onion. Drain the fat.
- Stir in ketchup, mustard, and relish. Scoop mixture into the cooking dish.
- Melt butter in a pan and slowly whisk in the flour until smooth. Cook until it turns a golden brown color.
- Add the milk to the roux. Keep whisking until the sauce is thick and bubbling.
- Whisk in 1 1/2 cups of cheese until it is completely melted and the becomes smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the meat.
- Add the tater tots to the top of the cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes. If, desired, sprinkle with fresh Italian parsley just before serving.
