2. Peeling the Potatoes
When you are creating an easy potato salad you can choose to leave the skins on or take them off. Leaving the skin on or taking it off is simply a matter of personal preference. If you choose to peel your potatoes it is best to wait. Most sources will recommend cooking the potatoes whole, with their skins on. This is referred to as cooking the potatoes in their jackets.
If you want to take the skins off to use the potatoes in your potato salad you can simply wait until they are cooled down. When cooked and then cooled, the potato skin will easily peel or simply slip right off. This makes the process of making a skinless potato salad much easier as you will not have to spend a bunch of time peeling the potatoes before you even get them into the pot to boil. Save some time and boil the potatoes whole.
