April 3, 2019 | Search Recipes Here

When it comes to comfort foods that will remind you of childhood, chances are that French toast comes to mind. Mom’s and grandma’s from all over make this great comfort food for children and grandchildren all over. No matter what your memories of French Toast may be, there is just something about that fragrant smell of vanilla, cinnamon, and the eggy buttery spread that simply makes you feel warm and good inside.

French toast is the perfect breakfast, especially during those long and dreary months as this food can help make us feel better. The best part about French toast is that this is a really simple dish and only requires a few ingredients for the basic recipe. If you have been searching for the perfect way to make French toast, there are a few things that you can do in order to create this magical dish. Here are some tips for perfecting your French toast recipe.

1. Drying Out Your Bread

When it comes to making the best French toast there is one secret that not many people know about. It involves drying out your bread. If you want that perfect combination of crunch and flavor, drying out your bread is the first step that you need to take. To do this you will want to place your bread on a wire rack and bake it in the oven at 300 degrees F for about eight minutes on each side.

This will help get rid of any excess moisture that is in the center of the bread and will also help to add crispiness to the edges. One of the biggest pitfalls of French toast is that it gets too soggy. Baking the bread first will help maintain the flavor of the bread and keep it from becoming soggy. It may seem like a weird step, but it really will make your French toast so much better.
