2. Beef Hot Pot
Next up is the beef hot pot. For this one, you’re going take the same basic principle: throwing everything into one pot. This time though, you’re going to use beef as the primary ingredient – take a few pieces of beef chopped up small, and in with that you will throw some onion, some peeled potatoes, some shallots, some garlic, some parsnip, and a fair bit more beef stock and gravy this time around.
You’re also going to stir in a good amount of red wine, which will help to provide a tangier and richer flavor. Finally, thicken with gravy granules and season with a little bit of rosemary and thyme.
Cooking a beef hot pot like this is an excellent way to create something that is warming, comforting, and filling – and that will help to warm your stomach on a cold winter’s evening.
