2. Perfect Mashed Potatoes
The best part about making homemade mashed potatoes – is the fact that it’s so easy. This dish is an essential part of any Thanksgiving dinner, and everyone will want to know where the mashed potatoes are when you place the turkey on the table. To make the perfect mashed potatoes, we recommend you use a mix of spuds and don’t bother peeling them. Make sure you use plenty of butter and full-fat dairy.
INGREDIENTS
4-lbs. of mixed potatoes; Yukon Gold and russets.
1-stick grass-fed butter.
½-cup whole raw milk.
½-cup sour cream.
Freshly ground black pepper and Himalayan pink salt.
METHOD
Place a large crockpot over high heat and add the potatoes. Cover the potatoes with water and add a pinch of salt. Bring to the boil and cook for 15 to 20-minutes until fork tender. Drain the water from the pot and use a potato masher to mash the potatoes as smooth as you can get them.
Melt the butter with the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the sour cream and stir until combined. Pour the mixture into the pot with the potatoes and mash again until smooth. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
