3. Use the Right Equipment
When it comes to making the perfect crispy potato, it is important to make sure that you have the right equipment on hand in order to do so. While you can pre-boil and make sure that the pan is hot before cooking if you do not have the right type of pan to cook the potatoes in, all that effort is going to go to waste. Crispy potatoes should be made in a solid roasting tin, a heavy gratin dish, or a cast-iron skillet.
It is important to make sure that you do not use a pan that has a thin bottom. If baking a thin tray could buckle when the potatoes are in the oven. If you use a skillet to cook them that do not have a thick bottom, it will be much more difficult to get a good cook on them as they can burn quite easily.
