Hamburgers are one of the most reliably delicious, filling, and satisfying things you can dish up. They are easy to make, they are universally loved, and they are filling and absolutely delicious.
But wait! I hear you cry. Aren’t hamburgers also supposed to be highly unhealthy? Well sure, they can be, but they really needn’t be. You see, a hamburger is only as unhealthy as the ground beef being used and the toppings that you add.
If you want to serve up a burger that is dripping in fat, covered in sauce, and surrounded by greasy chips and cheese… then sure it’s not all that healthy. But if you use lean mince, then you’ll be getting an excellent source of protein. You can choose to forego the sauce and cheese in favor of salad leaves, and you could use sweet potato fries or even a side salad instead of regular fries!
So in other words, a hamburger can be the perfect snack for all occasions. And with that in mind, let’s take a look at 15 fantastic hamburger recipes.
Note that all these hamburger recipes will be using the same basic ground meat starting point. From there, we’ll be looking at lots of different fillings, toppings, and ways that you can eat your burger. Enjoy!
1. The Basic Burger
To start with, let’s take a look at how to make your basic hamburger. This is a simple recipe that can be eaten ‘as is’ and that will be a sure winner for any occasion. This is going to be your staple.
All you need to do to make a burger is to take some ground beef, an egg, and some breadcrumbs. You’ll want about one beaten egg for every two pounds of beef, and that should be enough to feed about 8 people. You can then just mix this up together in a bowl and the egg will bind the mince with the breadcrumbs. Place on the grill once you’ve made your patties and grill until ready. That’s it. It really is simple!
Now just serve up between two buns, with a piece of iceberg lettuce, and you have your basic burger!
