Secret #2 – Batter and the Bowl
A good quality ice cream maker is an essential part of putting together the perfect ice cream recipe. You don’t need to spend a fortune on a machine to reap the rewards of your culinary genius. However, one thing you do need to do to ensure the best ice cream possible – is to chill the bowl of the ice cream machine.
Blending ice cream in a warm mixing bowl doesn’t work, it takes forever for the ingredients to bind and you’ll most likely end up with a final product that is frozen well in one spot, while the other side is airy and freezer-burnt. The bowl needs to be as cold as possible to ensure even mixing and distribution of the ingredients.
The night before you decide to make your ice cream recipe – place your ice cream bowl in a plastic bag and leave it to chill overnight. The following day – pull it from the freezer right before you make your recipe.
