3. Tips for the Perfect Spaghetti Sauce
We already covered some tips for preparing the tomatoes and the herbs, but here are a few more essentials that will help you create a magnificent marinara sauce.
First, make sure you have a crockpot or slow cooker in the kitchen, it helps you cook things faster and brings the flavor out of the ingredients.
Next, roast the garlic beforehand if you have the time. Take a whole head of garlic, cut off the top and drizzle liberally with olive oil. Bake it in the oven for 45-minutes and then remove the cloves. Mash them into a fine pulp and add it to your sauce.
The type of oil you use in preparing your dish makes a difference as well. We prefer using light olive oil for frying, and extra-virgin oil for drizzling. Don’t fry with extra-virgin olive oil, it turns the sensitive fatty acids rancid and spoils the taste of the ingredients.
