2. Traditional Turkey Gravy
We hope you saved the turkey drippings! Can you imagine any turkey dinner served without gravy? That would end up being a slightly dry dining experience. Drippings make the base of gravy, and they add extra flavor. This recipe produces a creamy complement to the bird that tastes delicious and amplifies the character of the turkey.
INGREDIENTS
Reserved turkey drippings.
2-tablespoons cornstarch.
1/8-teaspoon cracked black pepper.
1/8-teaspoon crushed Himalayan pink salt.
2-cups low sodium chicken broth.
¼-cup whole raw milk.
METHOD
Place a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the reserved turkey drippings and the milk. Slowly add the cornstarch and whisk quickly to prevent clumping as it enters the pan. Add the chicken broth and keep whisking until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Keep whisking the gravy and bring it to a boil for 30-seconds. Reduce the heat and let it reduce until it reaches the required thickness. Whisk occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pan.
