3. Korean Grilled Hanger Steak
Feel like grilling a steak tonight? Make the most of your meat by adding this marinade recipe to your steak. This sauce compliments the flavor of a hanger steak perfectly. Put this marinade together in seconds and leave the steak to rest in the sauce for 15-minutes before cooking.
INGREDIENTS
30-oz. Hanger steak.
1-shallot, sliced.
2-tablespoons coconut oil – melted.
3-cloves minced garlic.
1-tablespoons grated ginger.
2-tablespoons sesame oil.
6-tablespoons soy sauce.
3-tablespoons brown sugar.
2-sliced spring onions.
Toasted sesame seeds, for serving.
METHOD
Stir together the soy sauce, sugar, ginger, garlic, oils, and shallots with some pepper and salt to taste. Massage the marinade into the steak and leave overnight to rest.
Preheat a charcoal or gas grill until hot. Place the steak on the grill and sear on each side for 1-minute. Cook each side for a further 6 to 8-minutes and remove, let the steak rest for 10-minutes. Slice against the grain in ¼-inch thick cuts – serve with spring onions and sesame seeds sprinkled on top.
