2. Vegetable Oil
Vegetable oil is going to be used to help preventing things from sticking and to provide extra texture and flavor to your muffins. This is, of course, something that a lot of people will cook with, and you should definitely keep some in your cupboards at all times if you’re getting into baking.
But if you would prefer to use something other than vegetable oil, then there are plenty of alternatives that will do the same job. One example if you want something a little healthier is to go with coconut oil. Coconut oil is an oil that comes from coconuts (no surprise there) and that contains something called MCTs – Medium Chained Triglycerides. These are fatty acids that get used differently by the body and which are sent directly to the liver to produce ‘ketones’ for energy. This is really good for you is basically what you need to know, and can even help to prevent weight gain. It’s a great choice!
And while you’re at it, butter is another potential option. It’s not particularly healthy this time, but it sure is creamy and delicious.
