2 – Use creamy cheese
Creamy cheeses are the best option when it comes to making a dip seeing as they give it a thick and rich flavor without making it too chunky for use with chips. Cheddar is one of the prime options. Specifically, you should be using cheddar that hasn’t been aged since the high moisture content will make it easier to use for a dip. You could also use blue cheese.
Bear in mind that blue cheese is a pretty extreme ingredient in that you’ll either love it or hate it, there isn’t any middle-ground. You should check with everyone who’ll be eating the dip before you use blue cheese. You may love it, but your entire crew might hate it. We wouldn’t want bad cheese to ruin Superbowl night now would we? American cheese or Monterey Jack also make for good options. You could even use Mozarella if you want to add some twist to your dip.
