Everyone loves the thought of devouring a slice of chocolate heaven. What they don’t enjoy is the thought of spending hours in the kitchen baking a cake. Fortunately, our culinary geniuses stepped up to the occasion and put together this recipe for a one-bowl chocolate cake that’s easy to prepare.
INGREDIENTS
1-1/2-cups cake flour.
2-large free-range eggs.
¾-cup cocoa powder.
1-1/2-cups confectioners’ sugar.
3/4-teaspoon baking powder.
¾-teaspoon baking soda.
¾-teaspoon crushed Himalayan pink salt.
¾-cup buttermilk.
¾-cup alkaline water.
3-tablespoons light olive oil.
1-teaspoon vanilla extract.
Store-bought chocolate frosting.
METHOD
Preheat oven to 375F. Grease 2 cake tins with grass-fed butter. Dust the tins with cocoa powder. Take a large mixing bowl and add the flours, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk until all ingredients combine.
Add the eggs, water, oil, vanilla extract, and buttermilk. Whisk until ingredients combine and batter becomes smooth. Pour the mixture into the tins and bake for 35-minutes. Remove from the oven and trim the tops of the cake tins.
Place the first half of the cake on a cake plate lined with wax paper. Cover the top of the cake with frosting and add the second cake layer. Cover the sides and head of the cake with frosting. Serve with fresh whipped cream.
