5. Eggs Aren’t Bad for You
For decades, nutritional science led us to believe that eating cholesterol leads to our body producing more cholesterol. However, recent research shows that this is a fallacy. Dietary cholesterol has little to no impact on blood serum cholesterol levels. While cholesterol remains the only risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis, it’s the cholesterol produced in our liver that’s the issue, not the cholesterol we eat.
Interestingly enough, refined carbs like sugar and flour increased serum cholesterol. In other words, put down the candy bar and think twice before you drink than sugary soda. However, eating eggs won’t clog up your arteries. Eggs are rich in protein and healthy fats, essential for exercise-induced muscle recovery and sustained energy throughout the day.
However, eating eggs with bread, may not be such a good idea. Studies show that consuming fat and carbs together creates an entirely different reaction in the gut that elevates LDL production. In other words, eat your eggs with some spinach and leave out the toast from the meal.
