3. Sweet Potato Fries
These fries are perfect for those who love sweet potatoes or those that want french fries, but want them to be a bit healthier. Here is what you need:
- 3 medium yams or sweet potatoes
- ½ cup of oil
- Salt to taste
To make:
Peel the potatoes if desired and then cut into ½ inch strips. Place a skillet over medium heat. Heat up the oil. Add in the sweet potatoes and cook until softened and lightly browned. This takes about six minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fries to a paper towel to drain the oil. You can also make these in the oven. Simply heat the oven to 400 degrees. In a bowl, toss the cut potatoes in the oil and salt. Place on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until cooked through. Remove from pan and place on an absorbent towel to drain the oil.
