9. Simple Louisiana Jambalaya
The simpler version of jambalaya enjoyed in Louisiana uses the same cooking method as the Cajun style, but without vegetables. A lot of restaurants will serve this style instead of others because it is that much quicker to prepare!
So to make this one, you are going to cook the meat together in the cast iron pot until it starts to stick to the bottom of the pot. That’s when you add in the vegetable oil, and then the stock, and the rice all together in the pot. This is very quick to make and very tasty, but of course you lose a lot of the nutritional value (not that this is an especially healthy meal to begin with!). A compromise, of course, is just to use that tin of tomatoes again!
