This traditional Greek recipe produces juicy and delicious meatballs. Serve with tzatziki and pita for a mouthwatering meal.
INGREDIENTS – Meatballs
1-lb grass-fed ground beef.
6-oz. Ground free-range pork.
1-onion – grated.
2-cloves minced garlic.
1-cup panko breadcrumbs.
1-large free-range egg.
¼-cup chopped parsley.
6-chopped mint leaves.
½-teaspoon dry oregano.
1-tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil.
½-teaspoon kosher salt.
½-teaspoon cracked black pepper.
INGREDIENTS – For Serving
½-cup all-purpose flour.
3-tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil.
1-tablespoon chopped parsley for garnish.
1-cup tzatziki.
METHOD
Add the onion and meatball ingredients to a large mixing bowl and combine using your hands. Shape the meat into ping-pong-sized balls, then place on a lined baking tray in the fridge for two hours to set up.
Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil. Working in batches, dredge the meatballs in flour and then fry them until they’re crispy on the outside, 5 to 6-minutes.
Remove the meatballs from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels for 3-minutes. Serve warm with tzatziki and pita on the side.
