5 Lemon Drizzle Cake
This next recipe is another example of a delicious cake that is then going to be made all the tastier by adding maple syrup on the top! This time it’s going to be lemony flavored, because this is, of course, lemon drizzle cake!
To make this one, you will need 110g of butter, 170g of self-raising flour, 4tbsp of milk, 170g of caster sugar, 2 eggs, one lemon, and 3 tbsp of maple syrup.
Preheat the oven to 180C and beat the dry ingredients with the milk, eggs and the zest from your lemon (just grate the outside). It should be smooth and creamy. Now you’re going to bake in a preheated oven for 40-50 minutes. Meanwhile, take your maple syrup and microwave it for about 45 seconds with the juice from the lemon. While everything is still hot, pour it over the top of the cake.
You can also do this with icing, but if you love syrup, then this is how it has got to be!
