2. Purchasing Pork Tenderloin
When you are purchasing a pork tenderloin it is important to know that a pork loin and a pork tenderloin are two different things. These cuts of meat have a lot in common, but they look different. The pork loin roast is much larger than the pork tenderloin. For this reason, it is best to cook a pork loin at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.
Since the pork loin and the pork tenderloin vary in size and cooking methods, a loin roast should not be used as a substitute for a pork tenderloin and a pork tenderloin should not be substituted for a pork loin roast. Pork tenderloins will often come in packages of two and will be much smaller than a pork loin roast. Think long and skinny in terms of what a pork tenderloin looks like. Make sure that you are purchasing the right cut of meat for the recipe that you are hoping to create.
