5. Creating a Dough Ball
After mixing all of the ingredients together until they are well incorporated, you will then want to increase the speed of the mixer to either medium or medium-low. Let the dough continue to mix together at a higher speed for several minutes.
As the dough is whipping around at a higher speed the sides of the mixing bowl should begin to clear off. The dough is considered to be well kneaded when there is no longer any of the dough left on the sides of the bowl. When the dough is well mixed it should be in the form of a ball in the mixing bowl. When this happens, turn the mixer off and remove the ball from the bowl. If you do not have a mixer, you will need to mix the dough by hand. You will need to knead the dough for about ten minutes or so.
When finished the dough ball should be completely smooth and elastic.
