5 With Fried Peel
Waste does not want not as they say! No one wants to waste any food, and there is really no reason to do so once you know what you can do with things like peel.
In this case, why not try frying the peel? Grate the potatoes as instructed, but rather than throwing them away, set them to one side.
When you’re ready to start frying, prepare another pan with some more oil, and place the skins in there. On a hot heat, you’re then going to toss and fry them up, so that they are ready for adding to the hash brown. This will only take a few minutes, and of course, the objective on this occasion is not to get them to glue together – just to make nice crispy shavings that you’ll scatter on top of your cakes.
