4. Chicken Gravy
Made just as simple as traditional beef gravy, chicken gravy is paired best with fried chicken and all the trimmings. We tend to go a little heavy on the pepper for a spicy kick, but you should season it to your taste. We love it drizzled over mashed potatoes, steamed string beans, and/or stuffing!
Ingredients
- 1 cup chicken broth, roasted chicken drippings (if not enough, add enough water to make 1 cup), or prepared chicken bouillon (chicken bouillon and 1 cup water, dissolved)
- 1 teaspoon flour or cornstarch, plus 1 tablespoon water
- Salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat chicken broth, roast drippings, or prepared chicken bouillon on a stove over medium-high heat. Bring to a gentle boil.
2. Mix flour or cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water, and add slurry to pot. Mix and allow to thicken.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
