2. Heat the Pan
Before you pour the oil into the pan, heat it up. The oil needs to be nice and hot if you want your potatoes to come out crispy. You can heat the oil faster by heating the pan. You should wait until the oil reaches the desired temperature to put the potatoes in it. If you put the potatoes in oil that is not hot enough, it will soak up the grease, and the potatoes will become soggy instead of crispy.
If you put the potatoes into oil that is hot, they will start to crisp up as soon as they hit the oil. They will crisp up in less time, which means you can enjoy them sooner. You can check the temperature of your oil with a thermometer. Keep in mind that when you add the potatoes, the temperature of the oil will drop slightly. Don’t fry them for too long, as they can easily burn.
