5. Cincinnati-style chili
Cincinnati also does their own take on chili. This recipe brings sweet and spicy together in a wonderful way. The ingredients for this dish include ground beef, water, diced onion, canned tomato sauce, minced garlic, all-spice, cumin, chili powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar, and bay leaves. You can add in some salt and pepper if you’d like, too. Combine water and ground beef in a large pot and bring to a boil.
Crumble meat, reduce heat, and let it simmer for around 30 minutes. Once cooked through, drain any grease from the pot and then add in the remaining ingredients and mix. Bring to a boil, mix again, reduce the heat, and simmer uncovered for about 2 hours or until it reaches the thickness you desire. Once it’s ready, serve with your favorite toppings, or for a truly unique dish, serve over spaghetti.
