5. Easy Crock Pot Smoked Beef Brisket
One of the reasons Crock-Pot was invented was to buy cost-efficient cuts of meat and still be able to cook it to a tender, flavourful finish. Brisket is one of the recipes that showcase the magic of the Crock-Pot. You’ll need about a 1,5 pound cut of brisket and the following for seasoning:
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons kosher salt
3 tablespoons smoked paprika.
Bring these ingredients together as a rub and massage it into your brisket. Place the brisket in a resealable plastic bag overnight in the fridge preferably.
For the barbecue sauce you can you any personal favorite combinations of tastes, store-bought BBQ sauce, or the following:
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
1/2 onion, sliced into rings preferably, or roughly diced.
Bring these sauce ingredients together, and slather it at the bottom of the cooker. Place the onions on top of the brisket. Cook on low for 6 or 7 hours. You should have tender, delicious smoky brisket. Let it rest for a short while before serving with the sauce from the bottom of the cooker.
