3. Magnificent Meatball Sub Sandwiches
Meatball subs, apart from pizza – is there any dish that’s more Italian than this? Visit your local butcher and ask them for 6-lamb meatballs. Drop past the grocery store and pick up some tzatziki sauce, along with some fresh oregano, and basil. In case you haven’t noticed, we’re putting a Greek edge on our meatball subs – trust us, you’ll thank us later.
METHOD
Get started preheating the oven to 400°F, while that’s in motion, roll out the leftover pizza dough into 4×6-inch rectangles. Brush the surface with olive oil and add the herbs, along with some crushed garlic.
Slice up some red and yellow peppers and place on the dough. Skewer 3-meatballs and place them in the center of the sandwich. Add the tzatziki over the meatballs and fold the dough over, pinning closed with toothpicks. Brush the outside of the sub with olive oil and place it in the oven for 8-minutes until the sub starts to brown. Serve with tzatziki on the side.
