3. If Tradition Is Your Thing, That EVOO and A Squeeze of Citrus Won’t Ever Steer You Wrong
Some traditionalists might turn their noses up at all these other fancy styles. They might think the toppings detract from the original essence of the avocado, stealing the spotlight. For those, a wedge of citruses like lemon or lime, some zest from the fruit, and some really good finishing extra virgin olive oil is all you need. We might prefer it seasoned with a little salt and black pepper.
We always recommend a flaked or coarse salt, since it’s more flavorful and fun on our palettes than a plain old table. If you want to buck tradition only a little bit, some pomegranate might just be mild enough that it isn’t too rebellious but provide a crunch and fruity flavor, nevermind the beautiful red color as they glisten like jewels.
