4. Sponge Cake
Look, we’ve already introduced a few different cakes but the obvious and easy one to make is always going to be sponge cake!
With that in mind, you can easily make sponge cake using cake mix and this then gives you a whole ton of other possibilities – eat it as it is, or make it into a jam sandwich with a little cream – it’s sickly but very tasty and an absolute classic. Enjoy it with tea!
Here’s a quick rundown of how you can make a sponge cake with just five ingredients. First, you’re going to heat your oven to 180C and then cake tins with baking parchment. You’ll cream butter and sugar together until they are smooth and pale, and you’ll beat in eggs. You’ll then sift over the flour and fold in using a metal spoon. Add a little milk.
Now just divide the cake mix out with a spatula into your tins and bake for around 20-25 minutes.
Of course, there’s an even easier way to make this one… just take bought cake mix and bake! Then you’ll just make your sandwich and there you have it: sponge cake!
