4. Homemade Churros
What you need:
- ⅔ cup of flour
- ¼ stick of butter
- A cup of water
- Dash of salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- An egg
- oil
To make:
Place the water, butter, sugar, and a dash of salt to a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Add in the flour and mix until blended. Remove from stove and allow to cool. Add in the egg and work it into the dough. Pour oil into a large pan and heat it up. Place the dough into a piping bag. When oil is ready for frying, pipe the dough into it in long 4 to 5 inch strips. Fry for a couple of minutes or until they are browned on all sides. Serve these churros with powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or a topping of your choice sprinkled over them. Fruits such as cherries or strawberries go well with these as well.
