5. Italian Burritos
Who needs beans in a burrito? While they’re a staple in most recipes, we put together this idea using classic Italian ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
1-lbs lean ground grass-fed beef.
8-whole wheat tortillas.
1-cup marinara sauce.
¼-cup grated Parmesan cheese.
½-cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
¼-teaspoon garlic powder.
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 375F. Place a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil. When hot, add the beef and cook for 8 to 10-minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Crumble the meat with a spatula or wooden spoon while cooking.
Drain the skillet and stir in the marinara sauce. Add the garlic powder, and sprinkle in the cheese, stir to combine. Cook for 3-minutes until the cheese melts and the beef absorbs the flavor of the garlic and marinara.
Spoon ½-cup of the filling into the center of the tortilla and fold into a burrito. Place the burritos on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven for 10-minutes until golden brown and crispy.
