5. Guinness Beef Stew
What you Need:
3 tablespoons of olive oil
6 tablespoons of flour
32 ounces of beef stock
A 12-ounce bottle of Guinness
A cup of water
1 and a half pounds of stew meat
5 carrots cut into slices
2 stalks of celery chopped
A medium onion chopped
7 cloves of minced garlic
A pound of cremini mushrooms
½ tsp horseradish
1 tsp Worcestershire
Salt and pepper
Tablespoon of brown sugar
One pound red potatoes
How to make:
eat a pot over medium heat for three or four minutes. Add in 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Next, add in the stew meat and sear. Add the garlic, onions, and thyme leaves. Cook for about two minutes. Sprinkle some flour in the pot, one tbsp at a time. Add in some beef stock after each tablespoon. Repeat until all of the flour is added. Reduce the heat and pour in the remaining stock.
Add in the beer, celery, mushrooms, and carrots. Next, add in the salt and pepper, brown sugar, Worcestershire, water, and horseradish. Simmer for 45 minutes. Add in potatoes and cook about 30 more minutes or until the potatoes are softened.
