4. Red Pepper for the Ketchup
While ketchup is predominantly made from tomatoes, if you notice carefully what it tastes like, you might find that it isn’t just tomato that you can detect!
What’s also in here is red pepper. This has a taste that is very similar to tomato in a lot of ways, but which is just a little bit tangier and a little more interesting in some ways.
You’re going to take the red pepper and add it in with the tomatoes and the puree, making sure that it is very thoroughly chopped first.
From here on, we’ll be adding ingredients to the mixture that don’t just serve as the ketchup but which go into both.
