4. Seasoning
As with any piece of meat or meal, seasoning is important. Prime ribs have a lot of flavor, but the right seasoning can bring it out even more and make them even tastier. You want to season your prime rib at least 45 minutes before you cook it. You should add salt and pepper to all surfaces of the meat. You can also add other seasonings if you choose, but be careful not to over season the meat.
Some other spices that work well with prime rib include onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika. The salt and other spices pull the liquid from the meat and dissolve into it. It helps make the meat more tender too. You may not see the seasoning on the meat after it has dissolved into it.
Don’t make the mistake of forgetting you already seasoned it, and season it again. You can always add more salt to taste after the prime rib has cooked.
