4. Crock Pot Chicken, Rice, and Broccoli
Brown rice typically takes longer to cook, which is why many people turn to the instant option. However, with this recipe you will be making the meal in the crockpot, so you can turn it on and forget about it all day.
What you need:
1 small onion diced
1 cup of long-grain brown rice
1 pound chicken breast
Tsp garlic powder
Tsp dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
1 and ¾ cup of chicken broth
Cup of water
4 cups of cut-up broccoli florets
½ cup grated parmesan
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
To make:
This recipe is really quite simple as all you need to do is add all of the ingredients except for the cheese to the crockpot. Start with the rice, then the onion, broccoli, and chicken breast. Follow with the liquids and then add in all of the herbs and spices. Add in the cheese for the last half an hour or so. Serve hot.
