6. Almost No Calories
Oranges contain almost no calories, and there are about only 50 calories in a whole serving of an entire orange – so you really don’t have much to worry about by snacking on one, and you can even make a great reduction and dressing from oranges that are healthier than most ones you’ll find in the store (as long as you don’t add too much sugar!).
When using oranges in dishes like foods and other desserts, the worst culprit of calories will most often be hiding in every other part of the dish, so be careful when dealing with (especially store-bought) ingredients – oranges alone aren’t what’s adding the healthy aspect to the dish!
But if you’re trying to add some tang to something or bulk up a meal, there’s no better choice than oranges – whether you’re using them in fresh, dried or juice form to add that something special to your dish.
