4. Secret Spices
Adding spices to your cooking brings your ingredients to life. There’s nothing like salt, seasonings, and spices to make your meal magnificent – they’re the finishing touch that so many people forget about adding to the meal.
Your enchiladas deserve the best spice mix you can find – that’s why we recommend you make a homemade taco seasoning to enhance the flavor of your enchiladas.
Visit the local spice merchant and ask them to mix you up a fresh batch of taco spice. Ask them for a blend of the following ingredients;
¼-teaspoon garlic powder.
1-tablespoon chili powder.
¼-teaspoon red pepper flakes.
¼-teaspoon onion powder.
1-½-teaspoon ground cumin.
½-teaspoon paprika
¼-teaspoon dried oregano.
1-teaspoon salt.
Ground spices are notorious for losing their flavor. As soon as you get home from the spice merchant, store the enchilada seasoning in an airtight container and place it in the fridge. By using this method, your seasoning should last for up to 6-months.
