3. Rocket Pizza with Tomato and Bacon
Rocket’s a popular addition to any salad. The sharp, tangy taste of the herb livens up a serving of greens, and it brings out the best in a pizza as well. Ensure you buy fresh arugula for best results. Before you get started with your basic cheese pizza recipe, it’s time to fry some apple-smoked bacon until it’s super-crispy. Dice the bacon strips and set them aside.
Halve a dozen cherry tomatoes, (don’t forget to rinse them first,) and follow your standard cheese pizza recipe. When pulling the pie from the oven at the 8-minute mark to add the cheese, sprinkle the bacon and tomatoes evenly across the surface. Cover with a bit more mozzarella and return to the oven.
When the pizzas golden brown and ready to eat, pull it from the oven and garnish generously with the rocket. Don’t put the arugula in the oven with the other toppings, it wilts and tastes strange. Each serving of this perfect pizza gives you 314-calories.
