Sloppy Joes don’t often take too long to make, but some recipes have more complex sauces that require more simmering time. This recipes requires cooking the onions and the ground beef at the same time, which saves at least five minutes and a simple yet delicious sauce that does not require extended cooking time to combine the ingredients. This recipe takes just 10 to 15 minutes. If you want to save even more time and don’t need onions, use 1 teaspoon of onion powder instead.
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion chopped
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
6 hamburger buns
Saute onion and ground beef together. Drain off the extra grease. Add ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder and salt and pepper. Lower heat and simmer. Spoon onto hamburger buns.
